They came from the stars

In 1906, a Paleontology team looking for dinosaur fossils in the barren desert of Sudan, lead by the german Paleonthologist Dr. Leopold Cornely, unearthed this... spacecraft. Little did they know that this event would set things in motion for a clash of an alien race against us 3 centuries later, when the rightful owners of this ship came to Earth to claim their long lost craft and the remains of the pilot. As usual, the government denied everything, but this race of outsiders would not take "no" for an answer...
